I'm probably about three years late to the game, but I've been doing more and more programming lately despite the fact that is no longer even remotely related to my job. I've been doing it my free time for myself and for work. I know PHP and MySQL really well, but I'm ready to break out and do something different and actually challenge myself.

So I'm going to start my RoR adventure with some sort of stupid text adventure game or something just to get a feel for the language. Hopefully, time permitting, I'll have something within a few weeks. I need some ideas on what would be the best text-based game ever. Something like building the ultimate hot dog stand by collecting magic horse hooves.
