I never understood they hype about application launcher programs. Then I got the idea to actually try one and I am fully happy with life and Launchy. Smack Alt+Space and type away. If your first choice isn't what you typed just select what you wanted from the dropdown and Launchy will remember it. This is great if you're always on laptops or hate mice (peripherals not rodents).
