Voters send Portland to Australia

Jun1008 ,

New Portland

Residents of Portland, Oregon recently voted to move the city to Australia and rename the city the "New Portland". The move was seen as largely successful as individuals with "Keep Portland Weird" bumper stickers will not be forced to remove the stickers, which could cause costly paint damage.

City dwellers are getting used to the southern hemisphere which is presenting New Portland with its second straight Winter. The month of June is generally a time of warmth but the inaugural New Portland June is presenting inhabitants with a frigid high-forties to low-fifties (Portland decided to keep Fahrenheit to avoid any civil liberty issues) water-logged winter wonderland.

Resident Joshua Jenkins says "wow, holy shit, it'd sure be nice if the sun peaked out and my junk unfroze." Will New Portland thaw out and see Spring or Summer this year? We'll just have to wait and see.

I vote for “Mostly Portland”. Don’t want to anger the new settlers when a dingo eats their baby.

The hippies of Portland will be happy to witness the natural interaction.

Pasquale, soon is not November. Also you live in New Portland (sort of) so you don’t really have to come anymore!
